Abu Dhabi's Real Estate Centre (ADREC) reports total real estate transactions of AED 175.7 billion (about USD 48 billion) for the first nine months of 2026.
Residential sales alone reached AED 70.4 billion in the first half of the year, with off-plan accounting for 89% of the value. Emirati buyers spent AED 21 billion, up from AED 8.9 billion in the first half of 2025, while expatriate and non-resident foreign buyers made up about 70% of residential sales value. In the ready market, 61% of purchases were paid for in cash.
On supply, Abu Dhabi has about 409,000 residential units, with another 71,000 expected by 2030. Between roughly 7,500 and 8,000 units are due for completion in 2026, weighted toward the second half.
What it means for buyers: demand is broad, from local and international buyers, but a large pipeline is coming. Check delivery dates and compare similar projects before deciding.
