Abu Dhabi's rental market stayed busy through the third quarter of 2026, with about 50,500 rental transactions, up 29% on the second quarter, according to Savills Middle East data reported by Arabian Business.
Renewals made up 68% of all rental activity, which suggests most tenants chose to stay in their homes rather than move. Earlier ADREC figures for the first half of 2026 showed around 233,000 active residential lease contracts worth AED 9.3 billion.
What it means for tenants: if you plan to renew, start the conversation early and compare similar homes in your community. If you are considering buying instead, compare the monthly cost of renting with the cost of an off-plan or ready purchase over the period you plan to stay.
What it means for landlords: a high renewal share points to stable occupancy, so well-maintained homes in popular areas tend to keep tenants longer.
